2024  NEWS  from CHAPARRAL

In March we attended the Pyrenean Shepherd Club of America National Specialty Show in Louisville, Kentucky.  
Our male, Irish was entered in the "Open" Class and our female, Tryst, was entered in the "Veterans" Class.  
The judge for this Specialty was a well-respected breeder and judge from France, M. Norbert Gainche of Pic d'Espade Kennnels.

Irish was awarded BEST  MALE, BEST OF WINNERS & BEST  IN  SPECIALTY SHOW.  
Tryst won  BEST VETERAN in SWEEPSTAKES.
  Together they won BEST BRACE.


 
IRISH has now been successfully shown in three countries, Canada, United States and France!


Around and around we go in perfect unison! Irish and his mother, Tryst, won Best Brace at Nat'l

Am.Can.GCh. Chaparral's French Tryst
  wins  BEST VETERAN in SWEEPSTAKES in her 13th year at the National Specialty.
Acting like a teenager and the whole show was organized for her benefit!!  
Tryst also was awarded BEST  of  OPPOSITE SEX at an pre-National show.

First day of the Kentucky Cluster Dog Shows he earned a 5 pt. major
which gave him an Am.Championship title.
Subsequent days he was also awarded "Select Dog"

2023  NEWS  from CHAPARRAL



Bronze Grand Champion Chaparral's Irish Red , RI, JTN, CGN
and I have been busy these past few years promoting the breed in Canada, the United States and France.
"IRISH" is the son of Am.Ch., GCh. GABIZOS DU PICOURLET (French Import) and Am.Ch., GCh. CHAPARRAL'S FRENCH TRYST .  
Both of his beautiful parents have been #1 in the show standings in Canada for several years with multiple Group placings and RBIS.
Irish presently has 12 points towards his U.S. Championship title which he earned in one weekend.
IRISH had some big paw prints to follow in but as he matured he has met the challenge doing us very proud.

IN  UNITED  STATES

Irish's first showing as an adult dog in the USA earned
him 4-point majors for 3 days in a row!  
Hopefully we will be crossing the border with him again soon to finish him.

2023 AGILITY ASSOCIATION of CANADA  National Championships
Not to be outdone by his brother, Chaparral's Teenie Tiny Musko, &
Carolyne Dunn placed2nd position at Standard at the AAC National Championships this year
!


Elan, Chaparrals Or Noir, and her owner Tricia Waples achieved her
 Canadian Kennel Club Intermediate JWW (jumpers with weaves) as well as an Int PAD and
Steeplechase Q.  Elan has Qd in Advanced Gamble and is now competing at the Masters level.



At the 2023 North American Dog Agility Council National Championship Show
 ten year old Chaparral's Double Doux and her owner, Leo,
took first place with her team in the Elite Vet Division.
Then placed 1st place in the Elite Double Digit Division and was the
Elite Medium Dog Grand Champion
with the most points of all elite medium dogs participating at the Championships.

Am. & GCh.Chaparral's French Tryst won her Novice Veteran Agility titles at the age of 9 & 10.

Unfortunatley, Cookie injured her foot and could not compete

Gabizos du Picourlet started off 2016 with his first show and a Group 2nd placement. 
  Since then he has received multiple Group 1, 2, 3 & 4 from Cdn and FCI judges.   Then a RESERVE  BEST  IN  SHOW!

  2015  NEWS  from CHAPARRAL

In December we finished off with a memorable holiday in Orlando,
Florida at the Eukanuba Dog Show.  All three dogs did us proud, especially
Chaparral's Pooka 2nd who was "Winners Bitch" and Gabizos du Picourlet "Best of Opposite Sex"

In April we attended the Canine Federation of Canada dog show in Nova Scotia to exhibit our dogs to the 4 FCI (European) judges,
one being M. Jean-Jacque Dupas who is an expert with the Pyrenean Shepherd.
All our dogs did well.  Pooka2 obtained her Championship title and placed 1st and 2nd in the Herding Group
Gabizos also earned his Championship title with 4 Excellent Rating
Tryst also obtained 4 Excellent rating from these esteemed judges.
 
In October we took 3 of our Pyr Sheps to the famous Morris and Essex Dog Show in New Jersey.  \
They all did us proud with Gabizos winning Best of Breed,
his daughter Roulette winning Best of Opposite Sex and Tryst winning Winners Bitch. 

  2014  NEWS  from CHAPARRAL

In 2014 we attended a 5 day show in the United States and our male, Gabizos du Picourlet,
earned his American Championship title as well as placing 3rd in the Herding Group.


In the same weekend our two females, Tryst and Pooka2, earned majors
and points towards their American Championship titles.
   


 Pooka is now a 2X Canadian and American Champion from many prestigious shows with multiple Group 1,2,3 &4 placements.


At age 13 our old girl Eureka is still strutting her stuff and charming everyone who meets her. 
She also won Best Veteran Class at the U.S. show an a Top Dog Placement in the U.S

  2013  NEWS  from CHAPARRAL


On his first weekend of showing in Canada our lovely French import,
Gabizos du Picourlet, garners one of many Group placements obtained in 2013.
He is now a Canadian Champion.


Since 2013 he lead  the pack with Multiple Group Placements, an American Championship and  a  RESERVE BEST IN  SHOW!


In May of 2013 we attended the Pyrenean Shepherd Club of America
National Specialty Show and Gabizos won Winners Dog and Best of Winners to obtain a 5 point major. 
We will continue his showing in the U.S in 2014.


Our beautiful veteran bitch, Ch. Chaparral's Eureka, also surprised
everyone with her Best of Breed win at the pre-show PSCA National Specialty 2013. 
She is a beautiful girl and still is showing and placing in the Herding Group in Canada.

Pooka2 finishes her Canadian Championship in style with a Group 2 placement
under FCI judge, Mr. Bo Skalin of Finland.

Canadian and American Champion, Chaparral's Hoopla
won Best in Specialty Show at the 2011 U.S. National Specialty in New Castle Pennsylvania
The esteemed judge was M. Guy Mansencal from France which
made the win all that much more appreciated by us.

She then went on to the World Dog Show in Paris, France, to collect a prestigious Excellent Placement and 4th in the Open Class.


We are equally as proud of  Chaparral Reglisse Terra Bleu (aka Regi)
owned by Joni Johnson and shown by Jennie Williams
Regi place Reserve Winners Bitch at the Specialty show and also placed
Best of Breed by Mr. Skip Stanbridge the following day to finish her Championship title.



Chaparral's Winocq was among the other Chaparral dogs in attendance on the
weekend and she also finished her Championship title with a 5-point major
the day before the Specialty Show.  At the Specialty she was noticed by
M. Mansencal and was among the dogs that were cut to come back for a second look.




Chaparral's Pooka2 was in the Bred-By-Exhibitor class and placed 1st.

On February 14, 2009 we welcomed HIVERNAL DU VAL DU VENT DORE




March '09 weekend - Our boy, Bellocq du Pic d'Arrouyette, wins multiple Winners Dog \
honors and four 4-point majors to become
an American Kennel Club Champion!

April '09 - In Canada he earns his Championship title in style with a Group 4th placement!


May '09 weekend - Thank you to FCI breeder/judge, Christian Janes of Austria,
for awarding Bello Winners Dog at the 2009 U.S.  National Specialty Show.




 

March '09 weekend - Can. Ch. Chaparral's Hoopla  picks up three 4-point majors in the U.S.
and only needs a couple more points to earn her Championship.
May '09 weekend - Hoopla places Winners Bitch & Best of Winners at the
U.S. National Specialty Show under FCI breeder/judge Christian Janes of Austria.
May'09 weekend - Pooka2nd at only 10 months old wins Reserve Winners Bitch
at the U.S. National Specialty Show under FCI breeder/judge Mr. C. Janes.
June '09 weekend - Hoopla earns her American Championship Title.

November 2007 -- Chaparral's Niveole obtained her first CKC title passing her Herding Tested

Novermber 2008 -- all three earned their HTAD1 title through the AHBA









PERFORMANCE  EVENT  RESULTS



Angela and Rally (Chaparral's Zane Grey X Chaparral's Elan Vitale ) placed 1st in Freestyle Toss and Fetch Class
and 1st in Pairs Freestyle with a score of 45/50.
These High placings earned them invitations to the Skyhoudz World Championships for several years.
At the Indiana Disc Dog Classic in 2009 Angela and Rally placed 2nd overall in Freestyle and Toss and Fetch.
